Overview
-
Lead and oversee forestry engineering projects, including road construction, erosion control, and harvest planning.

Develop and implement innovative silvicultural and forestry engineering strategies to improve forest management practices.
-
Conduct field assessments to evaluate forest health, infrastructure needs, and environmental impacts.
-
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design forest infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, and drainage systems, while adhering to environmental and safety regulations.

Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers, foresters, and other team members.
-
Ensure compliance with regulations related to forest engineering, timber harvesting, and land conservation.

Prepare reports, project plans, cost estimates, and environmental impact assessments.
-
Engage with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Monitor the progress of ongoing projects and provide recommendations for improvements as necessary.

Qualifications
-
ATC registration with FPBC Required for Timber Cruiser. RFT, ASFIT registration an asset. At least 5 years of previous experience in related work (Preference given to those with BC Coastal Forestry experience)

Experience with conducting fieldwork such as conventional and helicopter cut block layout, planting, brushing and other various tasks that may arise in the field.

Experience with QGIS, RoadEng, Enfor.

Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team

Preference will be given to applicants with Post-secondary Certification or Diplomas in Forestry or a related field​

Physically fit and capable of working in coastal terrain

Willing to work 10/4 shifts in remote areas with camp/lodging provided

Enjoy learning and challenging themselves

Must be organized

Excellent communication skills

Hold a valid class 5 Driver's License

Hold a valid First Aid with transport endorsement (preferred)
