
EMS, Health, And Safety Coordinator $75 - 95,000 Annually Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable EMS, Health & Safety Coordinator to oversee and enhance our workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and following SFI standards, developing training programs, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees and contractors while minimizing risks and promoting best practices in health and safety management. Duties Include Supporting the development and advancement of the current safety program, Safety tracking, monthly reporting, On-site audits and inspections Prepare annual BC Forest Safety Council audit for internal or external auditor Post Harvest Assessments / compliance checks Review of prework documentation and maps to ensure compliance Forbidden Timber Safety expectations Supporting the implementation of sustainability initiatives such as developing, tracking, and reporting on SFI, Direction of field staff and contractors for SFI EMS program and training, EMS tracking, monthly reporting site audits and inspections Prepare and Lead Annual SFI audit Review of prework documentation and maps to ensure compliance with SFI certifications and Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of the site Environmental Management System (EMS) to proactively manage environmental compliance, issues, risk, and performance. Ensures that environmental commitments and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies are observed in all site activities. Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to site teams and site operations. Regularly updating, filing, and managing environmental and safety documentation. Collaborate with various departments to fabricate effective training development programs that educate employees on safety practices and emergency procedures. Serve as the primary point of contact for health and safety inquiries from employees, management, and regulatory agencies. Lead safety meetings and workshops to promote awareness of health and safety issues within the organization. All other duties as reasonably assigned Requirements Member in Good Standing of the Forest Professionals of BC Proven experience in a health and safety management role or related field. Strong knowledge of WSBC regulations, EMS/SFI Standards, industry standards, and best practices in occupational health and safety. Experience in developing training programs tailored to various audiences within the organization. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex information in an understandable manner. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for conducting thorough investigations and assessments. Ability to work collaboratively across departments while demonstrating leadership in promoting a culture of safety.
